$50-60 each?! Good grief...I have 4 of them in my freezer right now. I eat a lot of venison and was looking for a good crock pot recipe that didn't call for cream of mushroom soup or onion soup mix - thanks! I am going to try it out today/tomorrow.

Thanks for the comment. If you're eating a natural diet and avoiding processed foods, I wouldn't worry about the salt content -- it's not a big issue in the scheme of things. Naturally fermented sauerkraut is great!

This is a great article! It is gross how the false adverts manipulate the truth. Yogurts such as Activia are loaded with sugar and have no health benefits - like you mentioned, they are just over-processed deserts. Not to mention, they are quite expensive - being sold as if they were medicine. Companies should not get away with such deception. I take probiotic pills, eat natural yogurt, miso, and sauerkraut. Not sure how effective they all are, but at least they are not loaded with sugar - but the miso and sauerkraut have a high salt content, so there again, I am not sure of their effectiveness. Any suggestions?

Visit http://www.island-ikaria.com/ for lots of info about the island. Yes, a car is needed - nothing fancy because the roads can be rough. For a hotel, I recommend something in Armenistis, the Atsaches is pretty good. Keep in mind that the Ikaria has changed a great deal...the traditional life is fading fast. Talk to the old people...

I will be visiting Ikaria in May of 2012. I need to make contact with someone who can help me learn as much about the Ikarians possible. What plants they eat, etc.; what their life style is; what the genetic pool is; have someone what a typical day of an Ikarian is like; do men and women both live a long health life; any dementia; any heart problems; atherosclerosis; is honey an important part of their life; etc. Any help would be appreciated greatly. I intend to stay on the island for about 3 days. Will that be enough? Do I need to rent a car? How are the hotels? Thank you for any information anyone can provide.

Great to see Joe using Kettlebells and clubbells. I've used kettlebells in my clinic for patients with back pain for a long time now. Never tried circuits quite like this, but I'm looking forward to giving this a try.

This is hilarious. I think the man walking by was even funnier b/c I was definitely not expecting it. I will say I doubt I will attempt making a med ball after your experience, none the less it was quite amusing to read.

This is a great story! Sorry for your troubles. It reminds me of some of my projects, only yours was more costly. It also makes me think of some of the "I Love Lucy" episodes. This how-to-not-make a medicine ball gave me lots of tips on what not to do & what to do. Thanks!
