when yogurt first came on market in heath food stores about 35 yr.s ago , If you bought one w/ fruit ,they ALL were sweetened w/ honey , never sugar . I take it honey does not destroy the natural bacteria ?? correct ?

Great, please let me know how it turns out! Coconut oil will work fine and so will the crushed tomatoes. Not only that, but using your own bone broth will give these ribs an excellent flavour!

Thanks for the idea Greg! I have only attempted ribs once and I wasn't very happy with the end result. I'm giving it a 2nd chance today and am trying out your recipe. Instead of bacon fat, herbs de provence, and liquid smoke - I used avocado oil/coconut oil mix, some of this stuff called coconut manna, dried basil and sage. Oh yeah, I didn't have tomato paste either so I used some crushed tomatoes instead. Otherwise, it was exactly the same ;) haha! It smells amazing and I can't wait to try them!

I was also excited because I made my own bone broth from the same animal as the ribs and was able to use it for the first time!
